I just found a 04 3330Ci convertible on CL. And I started to like it. A nice grey color, only 80,000 miles, priced under 8 Grand. This is by far the best price/mirage ratio I’ve found on a clean E46 AND ITS MANUAL...
or at least that’s what the ad says. Further inspection proved the ad to be a lie. I must have looked at that leather gator 5 times before I noticed the PRNDL lit up next to it. Damn it.

“But you can manually shift it if you want! It’s basically a manual!”

IT HAS NO CLUTCH ITS NOT A MANUAL!

TWO CLUTCHES = TWICE THE MANUAL

About that ratio you mentioned, I see what you did there.

There is also the absence of a third pedal in the foot well. I like these cars too. My coworker had one and she let me drive it a couple of times, I was impressed.

Meanwhile I’ve seen now 2(!!!!!) ISFs that were actually IS250/IS350 F sports. I’m mad.

ISF do not equal IS F Sport! Not at all the same

Yeah, the PRNDL was what I saw first. The pedal was the final nail in the coffin built for my 330 dream

At least there’s a pic to debunk that bullshit.
How hard is it to get the transmission right on a listing?
![]() 01/19/2018 at 22:50 |

That’s true, could you imagine going to test drive a car only to find the wrong transmission.

I can imagine wanting to punch someone

I see it all the time on Autotrader.
Like this Audi A8 50 TDi. See, says manual in the listing, but that ain’t no manual.
Also cars advertised as 2018 cars when they are 2005 (anything but a 2018) year imported cars.
Like this 2005 JDM import. The listing says ‘2018 (05 reg)‘, so it gets in the 2018 listing. Happens all the ruddy time, such a PITA.

My friend works at a pretty big Ford dealership. I met the guy in charge of taking photos and making the used car listings. He was the oldest guy there, and he gave no shits about his job. So it made sense that listings were wrong.
And that’s how I found my Miata. It was listed as an automatic but looked like a 5 speed. I’m guessing most people shopping for a Miata overlooked it because of that.

Ha- not surprised that it’s someone who DGAF.
And yeah, I bet that Miata did get ignored because people thought it was a slushbox. Good for you!

I don’t think that A8 is a hatchback either...

No it isn’t. Lol.

Been there, done it, got the t-shirt. And this was after “confirming” the transmission via phone.
It sucks.
